Mt. Kang-Yatse is located in the Markha Valley which is in the Ladakh region. Mt. Kang Yatse 2 elevation 6250m is quite a popular peak after Stok Kangri. The Kang Yatse 2 difficulty to summit is quite technical but it is achievable. It is a beautiful peak which goes through a marvelous Marka valley. Kang Yatse 2 best time to visit is in Summer (July August). Before you start your expedition we recommend doing some short trek in Ladakh. Markha valley trek is the usual way of getting there, as it provides a good acclimatization.  You can add KangYatse 1 to your itinerary.

The climb is a mix of climbing up icy slopes, traversing snow slopes and crossing boulder fields and the conditions are dynamic depending on the time of the year. Dzo Jongo, standing at 6,250 meters, is a prominent peak in the Markha Valley. Nearby, you’ll find other peaks like Kang Yatse 1 and 2, as well as Dzo Jongo East. Unlike some of these, Dzo Jongo is considered an achievable climb that doesn’t demand advanced technical skills but does require excellent physical endurance. Proper preparation is essential before attempting the climb.

The trek is rated as moderate trek. The main challenge lies in its high altitude, especially the ascent to Lasermo La Pass at 5,400 meters. The pass often has snow, adding to the difficulty. Proper acclimatization in Leh (2-3 days) is crucial, as the trek involves steep climbs and long walking hours. Trekkers should have a good preparation. Lasermo trek is bit difficult day. Once you cross the pass the valley is beautiful will quench you tiredness.

Marhka trek is one of the most popular treks in Ladakh and is very picturesque and full of adventure. It starts from moderate altitude to high altitude. It also includes some river crossing, along with the Kongmaru la pass (5200m). You will be amazed by the view of Kang Yatse (6400m) on the trek. The best thing is you can do this trek by homestay or camping. If you are lucky enough then you can also see some wildlife animals. There are some historical Buddhist temples in the valley.
