Expedition
Mt. KangYatse is located in the Markha Valley which is in the Ladakh region. Mt. Kang Yatse 2 elevation 6250m is quite a popular peak after Stok Kangri. The Kang Yatse 2 difficulty to summit is quite technical but it is achievable trekking peak in Ladakh. It is a beautiful peak which goes through a marvelous Markha valley. Kang Yatse 2 best time to visit is in Summer (July August). Before you start your expedition we recommend doing some short trek in Ladakh like Sham Valley trek or one day trek from Gymtsa to Phyang. Markha valley trek is the usual way of getting there, as it provides a good acclimatization. There are some other ways to get the KangYatse 2 route. It will take you some 5 days to reach the base camp (5100m) Starting from 3500m approx and your body as well physically prepared for the Expedition
Day One: Arrival in Leh
Upon arrival at the Leh Airport, one of our team members will guide you to your Hotel. It is mandatory to take complete rest in Leh. As you have landed on the high 3,500m (11,550ft)

Day Two: Acclimatization Hike
You need to Rest and acclimation in Hotel. Later on our Group Leader or Professional Mountain Guide who assists you with your equipment in case of any change you need for the expedition, will give you a briefing regarding the expedition and itinerary plan. Later you can visit nearby famous places like Shanti-Stupa, Leh Palace. In the evening you can go to the Leh Market if you have to buy anything for the expedition.

Day Three: Drive to Sara village
Will be driving alongside the Zanskar River towards Sara. We’ll visit Phatarsab Gurduwara and Sangam on the way. Sara village which is your trekking point. The drive is about 3 Hours from Leh to Sara. After reaching we’ll set up our camp where you feel the Mountain and Spirit of expedition. We’ll take an acclimatization walk in the evening, and find out the Culture and Lifestyle of the Village. Being a climber, you should have a Mountain Manner. Greet everyone you see, bring back your trash to your campsite, help each other and so on.

Day Four: Trek to Markha
It is ideal to start your day early to minimize yourself exposure to the strong sun. Please keep it in mind that you are on an expedition and don’t forget to maintain your discipline. Always listen to the staff, especially to the Mountain Guide as well as follow their instructions. : This trek is quite challenging if you are a heavy Junk food eater. Believe me this hiking burns lots of calories. From Sara to Markha is almost 9 km hiking in-between you’ll find the beautiful landscape of the Mountain and Scenery. By the afternoon you’ll reach at the campsite.

Day Five: Trek to Thuchungtse
It is a quite long day. On this day you have to hike for almost 15 km from Markha village to Thunchungtse Campsite. You’ll cross two beautiful villages, the Umlung and Hankar. You will also see the first sight of KangYatse. On the way you will also find some tea stall from the women of the village.

Day Six: Trek to Base Camp
Kang Yatse 2 temperature will be quite pleasant if you are doing this in July-August. The view of both Kang-Yatse is wonderful from here and the valley itself is beautiful with a variety of flora. On the way you’ll find many Buddhist Mani walls and you see the beautiful lakes which we called “Tsegu”, where in-between the one pond there is “GuruRinpoche statue”.
It might be chilly at night, So we recommended wearing warm clothes in the basecamp.

Day Seven: Training and Rest
You will take a rest most of the time at the basecamp, and later on our professional mountaineering guide will briefing you about the basic mountaineering at the basecamp like introduce of crampon, harness, rope etc and show you how to self arrest. Later we issued some of the equipment to the climber. We will also go for the height gain of 150m from the basecamp.

Day Eight: Base camp to Summit & Back to BC
The final push, beginning at midnight, It will be both physically and mentally challenging. But once atop the summit (6225m), the surrounding awe-inspiring scenery of Tibet, and the Zanskar and mighty Karakoram ranges, all of our numbing pains melt away in a warm glow of success!

Day Nine: Trek to Chokdo (Pass5200m)
Start early morning, and have your last breakfast at camp.Today we have a Kongmaru-La pass which is another summit for you. This hike is about 15 km from the basecamp and walking through a beautiful valley. you’ll end up at Chokdo village which is our trekking end point where our vehicle will be ready to get back to Leh city.
